Weeks Six and Seven

Weeks Six and Seven

Jumping Cholla! We have been away almost two months! It doesn't seem like that long to me. Let me apologize for the late entry. Dillon arrived on the 23rd and left on Monday the 30th. Since I normally post on Sunday or Monday, I thought I would just do a double whammy and not take time to write while Dillon was here.

We had a wonderful Christmas together and had our friends, Deb and Lisa over for a prime rib Christmas dinner. As usual, my husband outdid himself and everyone was happy and well fed. It was very different but at the same time, it was memorable as well. I was so grateful to have Dillon with us, it just wouldn't be Christmas without him!

Dillon and I hunted down some Geocache's and it was super fun! Click on the link if you don't know what that is...but be careful! It's kind of addicting! We had fun checking out the desert and catching up. I know for a fact that my kid was super stoked to be wearing shorts in December and actually being warm! Yay! Check out the huge Joshua Tree we found!

I have to tell you before I forget! We picked Dillon up at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on Monday. His flight arrived at 5:23pm and he was in the truck by 5:45pm. When I booked his flight, I did not know that I would be living in the desert a bazillion miles from anywhere. It is a three hour drive WITHOUT
Phoenix traffic, which there was plenty of! Anyway, we ended up, of course, driving home in the dark. And when I say dark, I mean PITCH BLACK! Dillon kept asking where we were taking him 😂. At one point he said "Man, this is kinda scary." LOL! We made it back to the camper safe and sound, but I am pretty sure he thinks we are nuts!

Sage was over the moon to have her brother here! She adores Dillon, and while he would  probably never admit it, Dillon loves her too. They played a lot and got caught up on snuggles and kisses.

I have come across some pretty funny signs out here in the desert and wanted to share a few with you. They definitely made me giggle and there are plenty more that I will be sharing in the future!

This one isn't really funny, but interesting. I do not know the history, but this is just out in the desert with a kind of memorial. Whiskey bottles, beer cans, hat and bandana are all around it as well as a little burial plot.

This sign is actually on the road we take out to our camp spot. Go figure!

Well, that's about it for now. I will tell you that we are doing well and getting used to boondocking. I do get a bit restless now and then, as well as lonesome, but all in all, boondocking is growing on me.  Also, for those of you that do not know, I am STILL WORKING! I have teamed up with a great agent, Carol Jones, and together we will take care of everyone's real estate needs! Reach out anytime.

Thanks for reading and if you feel like sharing, please do! Happy New Year and I'll talk at ya later 💓
